The Pushkin cafe is a coffee shop Moscow, Russia.
It is famous for having been quoted in the French song of Gilbert Bécaud, entitled "Nathalie" and was released in 1964.

Place itself doesn't exist at the time and was not opened until 1999, well after the success of the song, to commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin, the famous Russian poet.

anecdote :
Vladimir Putin and Jacques Chirac met in Moscow at the Pushkin cafe.

Inspiring eclipse

On 11 August 1999, all the media talk about the famous eclipse a rare event to fuel our imaginations ...

At that time, I began to manipulate digital images on new software and at the same time, I threw my computer back to my new reader / writer CD!
All these conditions are met, an idea kept running through my head, a slogan for a company that would make backup copies your files and which would use the event to eclipse his promo ...
Immediately, the image of the COPY RIGHT against it, was born!

The name had come to me as obvious as to propose the creation of copies of original CD, we had to take into account the rights of Copyright, of course!

You tell me, what is the relationship with CDV?

Well after a few years, what was my surprise to see the creation in my city of Longwy, a company that offered this service almost in ways quite formal and respect rights.
The name was simply: COPY PRO
Note: The COPY PRO business card at the time, was the first type of card "card-CD" in my collection.

Seeing it, I am the connection with my idea from 1999 ...

The company COPY PRO died in 2013.
The technological evolution of backup and Internet tools have had the better of it.
... The memory remains ...

At the moment I write these words, the sky darkens and I can see a beautiful solar eclipse. A sufficiently rare astronomical phenomenon to be reported!

Changing image

A nice restaurant card with three photos and logo.
By playing the inclination of the card, we find another picture with the same logo and three dfferent photos of the restaurant.

technique :
In the early twentieth century Estanave adapts a technique he called "changing".
It creates a portrait of a woman opening and closing the eyes, consists of two different pictures taken one after the other.
The picture changes slightly when the viewer tilts forward and back plate, creating the effect of film movement.

This very old card is part of my collection for quite some years and have always found it an incredible charm.
With its geometric decoration modern art style and gilding somewhat old.
The formatting of the paper, visible on the back, gives relief to all. This font very elaborate and these letters that fit together into each other harmoniously.

There are some days I discovered stupidly by translating German, it was actually a good year card!
Thank you to Frau Betty Schwaighofer from Munich or her family, to make themselves known. I would like to know more!

The melon cake ... chocolate!

Here is an old advertising card for a Parisian chocolatier confectioner. It is rather pretty with her back side illustration, but stopping one second on this one, I would pointa small defect in the title :

The work is signed "MURILLO" in handwritten letters
as the artist signed his paintings, but the title before us is:
« LES MELONS » ! ( melons)

Now, among the works of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1618-1682), Perhaps we know better:
"The eater of melon and grapes" painted in 1650 (below left)

But the illustration which is shown on this card, is simply a different picture of Murillo, which is very similar to the first, which is entitled:
« The Cake Eaters" (here right)

A work may be less known but this time, which has no relation to melons!

I'm to be a real "fucker flies" to find it!

Peach skin
